Firestopping is an important part of safe fire compartmentation. Firestops are installed in through-penetrating structural openings reducing fire resistance. The purpose of compartmentation is to prevent the spread of fire, heat, smoke and toxic gas in the building.

The firestopping products and installations used by HB Paloturva Oy have all been granted type approvals by the Finnish Ministry of the Environment. Firestops must be marked in the structures and documented in the building’s maintenance manual. Safe fire compartmentation reduces the loss of lives and property and assists fire fighting and rescue work in case of fire.
